To the Slaughter House

Do you really think that there's no difference between the two parties?

Most of the Democratic Party is for government-run health care, abortion rights-pro-choice, nanny state mentality with regards to government social programs like medicaid, medicare, welfare, and are for the Cap & Trade Bill.

Whereas, a majority of the Republican Party has consisently voted against government-run health care or the DEmocrats health care bills , are pro-life with relation to abortion, want to help give people a step up instead of helping them become reliant on government's social programs, and have voted against Cap & Trade.

Even there mentality with regards to the War on Tarror is different. The Democratic Party views detainees and the War on Terror as a criminal matter and the GOP views 9/11 as an act of war and perceive terrorists or Muslim Jihadists attacking us as more serious than merely a criminal matter and that there is a war being waged against the West.

Yes, the GOP lost its way under Bush with becoming in favor of Big Government, but it seems like most GOP politicians are returning to fiscal conservatism. Neither McCain or Obama were the answer to big government problems.

There may be differences in their rhetoric, but they both still lead to the same place.

Shouldn't they be curved so you can't see where you're going? Pretty sure that's how they keep the cows calm.

Other than the Cheney part of the right that wants to treat terrorism as a strictly military consideration, I am confident there is almost zero difference. Treating any part of it as a criminal action problem is broadly accepted by most politicians, left or right, just a question of how much and where at.

GOP's been all over medicare defending it from cuts in the past year both rhetorically and literally AND even expanded it a few years ago with a huge entitlement program, and did so in an even more ratf**k manner than the current health care bill is to be passed in now (changed/ignored the house rules on vote times to pass it).

How the hell can anybody say with a straight face they're not the same thing? Abortion? That's the big story? Somehow that's more important than following the money?

Absolutely, I couldn't agree more.

Of course, there are SOME differences between the right and the left, but they're mostly rhetorical differences. For instance, the right talks about wanting to defend the unborn, wanting to repeal Roe v. Wade, etc., but if you examine their record, you'll see that their actions almost never match up to their words. Even especially outspoken "pro-lifers" like George W. Bush and Sarah Palin have unmistakably pro-abortion records.

And the left is just as hypocrtical.

Both sides appeal to different types of votes and adjust their rhetoric accordingly, but when you get past all the BS you find that they're just two sides of the same coin.

Again, we need to look past the rhetoric. Yes, the rhetoric of both sides differs. But, with few exceptions, their actually records really don't.

Agreed....very little difference.
