Islam: Taking over Campbell Soup

Yes sir, that's right. Campbell Soup apparently decided it needed to cave to the pressures of those evil Muslims (who want to kill infidels) and make sure its canned soups were halal-friendly. Dietary halal is a set of rules about what Muslims can and cannot eat, obviously non-infidel friendly, as it restricts the eating of the beloved bacon and spiral-cut ham and also the gorging typically exercised in all-you-can-eat restaurants that are, of course, near and dear to the American heart.

This is, as you can see, yet more proof that all the Muslims want to kill all of us infidels. What will it be next? Will all-you-can-eat restaurants begin closing down? Will pork become scarcer? Will Jews be forced to eat halal foods instead of kosher? What will it be then?

How much will be too much? Will our government continue to let these private companies do what they can to make money, and accede to the demands of the evil Muslim conspiracy that is infiltrating our society bit by tiny bit? Will they let the Muslims use soup as a wedge to drive yet more space between themselves and the rest of American society?

Stop the Soup. Boycott Campbell Soup.

Hahahahaha!! You crack me up!

I'm not a huge Campbell's fan (because its loaded with sodium, and I like to cook from scratch...nothing having to do with politics), but I think its totally fine they're doing this, and actually, I applaud them for having the guts to do what's right, given the societal pressure not to. Unfortunately, they are putting their corporate income on the line to do what they feel is right. If you don't like it, fine, don't eat it, but all this hullabaloo about it is absurd. I mean, really. We've taken our fear and disdain to the SOUP level?!?

Like you said, there's kosher food, vegetarian that accomodates every dietary need and cultural palate around the globe. And nobody here complains about that. But when its about anything that accomodates the dietary needs of those who practice Islam, oh we just can't have that, can we? And as a side note, there are probably a lot of "Muslim" guidelines that other cultures practice too, or other people adhere to for health reasons to begin with. So its not an *only* Muslim thing. To put it in perspective, there are a number of people who aren't Jewish who still refuse to eat pork products (vegetarians, for one...which is a lot of people, myself included). So some people would probably appreciate these guidelines that don't even practice Islam, because most (if not all) cultural/religious dietary restrictions have to do with food safety anyway. That's certainly what all the Old Testament food restrictions were about. God didn't want them eating anything unclean or unhealthy. I would imagine its the same for other religions too.

So this is not about infiltrating America with Islamic culture, so much as wanting to follow the health guidelines established by their god/leader, as opposed to the FDA and USDA, the same as many other religions in America, that nobody has a problem with, such as Jewish kosher foods. And I betcha their (Jewish, Islam, or any other religion/culture's) guidelines are a whole lot healthier anyway, because the FDA and USDA allow us to eat pretty much anything.

Anyway, I'm starting to ramble, so I'm stopping here.

I enjoyed this post.

It is so enfuriating when people will not buy our products, because we hold differing religous, political, or world veiws.

Still angry at big business for virtually enslaving millions of people the world over?

We need to boycott international soup sales regardless of religious pandering. Boycott Campbell Soup Company, it virtually enslaves people. It is our responsibility as humans created in the image of the Constitution of the United States of America to protect people from bondage to big business.

Interesting side note: Halal-certification for Campbell products is not available in the USA.

Campbell's soup is a corporation and they made a decision to increase their market by creating a product desired by more people. I don't think they made this decision because of pressure or politics. They made it because of money. If capitalism continues to spread to first world countries it won't be long until cars manufactured in foreign countries and sold in the US are painted in colors such as red, white and blue!! SMILE

Megan- thanks. :)) I too rarely eat any prepackaged foods, nor canned soup...we do get tomato soup every now and then to eat with grilled cheese sandwiches...which I need to go make. Right now. Because that sounds absolutely scrumptious.

Charlene- this was a veiled attempt at humor. I enjoy pulling a Colbert every now and again. :P

Tragedy- it is very true that this is a Canadian thing...but Americans are still all up in arms over it. ^.^

Off to make a grilled cheese sandwich. Peace. :P
